Timothy approached me one day wanting to collaborate on a project for his collection. He passed me the sketches he got in mind and I said yes without hesitation. The piece was derived from Malaysian Chinese influence and also some inspiration from the terracotta warriors.
I love the asymmetry of the piece in the front and also the openness of some of the stitches at the back. I chose stitches that resembled an armour, the sand stitch was one that caught my eye.
